Lexus and Scholastic Announce Lexus Eco Challenge #2 Winners

Creating rain gardens, building a biodiesel processor, and promoting the use of solar chimneys were some of the actions taken by the winning teams in the second round of the Lexus Eco Challenge, an educational program and contest that empowers young people to make a positive difference for the environment. The 15 winning middle and high schools teams in Challenge #2 were awarded $10,000 each and are now qualified to participate in the Final Challenge for a chance at one of two $30,000 grand prizes and 14 $15,000 first-place awards. In all, Lexus will award a total of $500,000 in grants and scholarships throughout this year?s program. All award money is shared among the students, teacher advisor and school.

Lexus is Top-Performing Luxury Brand in 2010 J.D. Power and Associates CSI Study

Lexus ranked highest in customer satisfaction among luxury brands in the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 Customer Service Index (CSI) StudySM. Lexus achieved an overall CSI score of 837 on a 1,000-point scale, 24 points above the segment average. The Lexus brand also led in four of five measures in the CSI Study. Those areas include Service Initiation, Service Advisor, Service Facility and Service Quality.

Toyota Extends Brake Override System to Provide an Additional Measure of Customer Confidence

Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc, today announced that it will install a brake override feature on an expanded range of customers’ vehicles to provide an additional measure of confidence. This braking system enhancement will automatically reduce engine power when the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are applied simultaneously under certain driving conditions.
