?I?m happy to announce that an update for the 2010 GX 460 vehicle stability control system is now available at Lexus dealers nationwide. Our dealers began contacting customers yesterday offering to make arrangements to perform the update, and we expect them to get in touch with most GX owners within one week. With the revision now in place, we are also resuming sales of the 2010 GX 460. We are confident that the update will make the performance of the GX even better for our customers.

The Lexus Eco Village at TED 2010, themed ?A Future of Less Carbon - A Brighter Future Because Tomorrow Deserves Nothing Less,? brought together eco visionaries of the Lexus Hybrid Living Community with visionaries of the TED community to collaborate on ideas for a world using less carbon. Emphasis was placed on transportation, cuisine, sustainable cities and architecture. At the Lexus Eco Village, 50 TEDsters entered their ideas for carbon reduction through short videos and whiteboard displays for the opportunity to win a year?s lease of a Lexus HS 250h hybrid vehicle.

Bringing relief to Haiti in the form of a biodiesel processor, solar panels, seedlings for a 2.5-acre Jatropha Farm and donated hand tools, and educating the community about the importance of cleaning up of pet waste were the two top winning projects in the third annual Lexus Eco Challenge, an educational program and contest that inspires and empowers middle and high school students to learn about the environment and take action to improve it.

Our engineers conduct similar tests and we feel these procedures provide a good indication of how our vehicles will perform in the real-world; however, we will try to duplicate the Consumer Reports’ test to determine if appropriate steps need to be taken. Please keep in mind that the 2010 GX 460 meets or exceeds all federal government testing requirements. Customer safety and satisfaction remain our highest priorities. We take the Consumer Reports’ test results seriously and appreciate Consumer Reports bringing it to our attention.
